� PMEA/DISTRICT 9 WILLIAM GASBARRO MUSIC SCHOLARSHIP The PMEA/DISTRICT 9 WILLIAM GASBARRO $500.00 MUSIC SCHOLARSHIP has been established as a very special award for one outstanding senior music student within District 9. The student must be: a member of his/her high school chorus, band and/or orchestra; a participant in at least one PMEA Festival throughout high school and one who intends to major in music upon high school graduation. The scholarship is created in memory of the late William Gasbarro who believed in supporting young music students and who himself exemplified the characteristics of persistence, determination, hard-work and all-around music excellence. The recipient of the scholarship will be the best 'all-around' student who along with his/her achievements has also shown concern for others through community service, while displaying leadership and fine character traits. The student must also intend to major in music in college. Each music director in District 9 is asked to submit the name of a senior music student from only one of the following categories: Instrumental - Wind/Percussion Instrumental - Strings Vocal In the case of those instructors that have multiple teaching assignments (e.g., Chorus/Band and/or Orchestra) they may submit one name in each of the above categories. Each nominated student must submit the application form along with an official QPA which includes the first quarter of senior year. The recipient of the award will be determined by the District 9 President and members of the District 9 Executive Committee. APPLICATIONS/INFORMATION MUST BE RETURNED BY DECEMBER 1 TO:
